Shape analysis and morphometric evaluation of the obturator foramen in dry human bones

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the shape and morphometric features of obturator foramen (OF) in dry human bones.
 Methods: Forty-six (Right:15, Left:31) coxal bones were evaluated. Photographs samples for measurements taken using a transparent osteometric box (TOB) designed this study. Horizontal vertical diameters OF measured according two different principles. Measurements determine localization on bone (hip bone) relative acetabulum, pubis, ischium. Shape analysis (visual typing) was performed with conventional method. In order examine variations more detail, quantitative based Elliptic Fourier Analysis SHAPE software.
